Inverse Functions

Enter a function f(x) in the box. Move the H & V Line Test slide to determine if your function is 1-1 or if the domain needs to be restricted. Also note whether the graph of the inverse passes the vertical line test. Then move the points slider to see how the two curves relate to the line y=x. Note the coordinates of each point and domain and range of both the function and the inverse. Remember to restrict your functions domain so that it is 1-1. To change the viewing window, hold the shift button and left-click to drag the graph or use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out. You can also adjust the axes by holding the shift button and left-click on the axis you want to change.
