Vertical Displacement of Projectile

Enter values for the initial height and initial velocity of an object launched straight up in the air. Enter a value for the acceleration due to gravity - it is 9.8 m/s^2 in the Metric system and 32 ft/s^2 in the Imperial system. Move the slider to advance time - note that the parabola is not the path of the object, but rather, the vertical displacement of of the object over time. The path of the object is shown to the left of the graph. When does the object hit the ground? What is its velocity when it hits the ground? When does the object reach its maximum height? What is the maximum height? What is its velocity when it is at maximum height? To change the viewing window, hold the shift button and left-click to drag the graph or use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out. You can also adjust the axes by holding the shift button and left-click on the axis you want to change.
